On 1 March 2014, innovators and entrepreneurs will come together in Annapolis to generate new ideas and innovative solutions for our military.
The Defense Entrepreneurs Forum was inaugurated in Chicago this past October, where innovation was bred through cross-pollination and ad hoc networking. DEF[x] Annapolis is continuing the mission of innovation by hosting a regional conference for the Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland region.
On 1 March 2014, we will bring together professionals from the area and students from such schools as the Naval Academy, West Point, Georgetown. Along with the civilian business dress code that helps remove rank-defined relationships, DEF is unique among defense conferences in that it focuses on the junior and emerging leaders, giving them a voice and the opportunity to network with established professionals. We know that bringing together professionals and students will provide for a dynamic mix of talent, ideas, and passion.
DEF[x] Annapolis will be a combination between a TEDx-like forum and a Start-Up weekend. The forum will provide an opportunity to present ideas in front of peers and professionals, to receive real-time feedback, and to grow the support network for ideas. By allowing collaboration between emerging leaders in both the military branches and private industry, we will forge new connections and share ideas to generate new and innovative solutions.
This one-day event will feature a series of dynamic speakers, interactive panelist discussions, breakout groups, and a post-conference social at one of Annapolis' many fine downtown establishments. We truly hope that you will join us in our endeavor to breed greater innovation in the military and private sector.
